FAQ
- Will a 3D printed QR code scan?
- Yes, as long as there’s enough contrast. Switch the colors to Multiple and give the code a dark color and the base a light one (or the reverse). A larger size and a higher error-correction level make it more forgiving.
- What should I set error correction to?
- Low (7%) gives the simplest code with the biggest squares. Higher levels (up to 30%) let the code still scan if part of it is scuffed or covered, at the cost of more, smaller squares.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Design as much as you like in your browser, no account needed. When you’re happy with it, sign in with a free Polar Cloud account to save the model to your library, slice it, and send it to your printer. A few advanced settings come with a Polar Cloud subscription.
- Will it actually print?
- Each generator builds the model for 3D printing and shows tips for printing it. Once it’s in your library you can slice it in the browser, or let Polar Print pick the settings for you.
