Why can't I just "convert" STL to G-Code?
Unlike converting a Word Doc to PDF, G-Code is a set of physical instructions for a robot. It contains strictly defined coordinates, temperatures, fan speeds, and extrusion rates.
If you run G-code meant for an Ender 3 on a Prusa Mini, the printer might try to move beyond its physical limits or heat up to unsafe temperatures. That's why "Slicing" is required to translate the 3D geometry into machine-specific actions.
